Water Usage On Sites
Due to increased water bills and usage - Water usage may be restricted across sites. The use of hosepipes is not permitted on any of our sites. Water on our sites is provided by the Co-operative and is managed by the use of push taps. Tenants are encouraged to harvest and use rain water, with a minimum of 2 water butts per plot. The full water policy is detailed in the site handbook and forms part of all tenancy agreements.
Hulme Street Funding
Cheshire East Council has confirmed S106 funding has been approved for Hulme Street Allotments. This will enable the site to get the long awaited toilet block and canteen facilities, like plot holders enjoy at Ford Lane. Other facilities like CCTV and improved site drainage are also planned.
Ford Lane Works
Plot holders have been busy on the Ford Lane site with a digger to trench all of the power cables and water pipes at the Ford Lane end of the site.
The digger has also been used to lay utilities for the second toilet block at the Under Wood Lane end of the site. Both toilet units are in full operation.
Mayoral Visit to Ford Lane Site
The Cheshire East Mayor has visited the Ford Lane site to open the new toilet facilities that were partly funded by Cheshire East. The Mayor met with plot holders and had a full tour of the site. Refreshments were provided by the plot holders.
